Months prior to July 4, 2026, develop a book club, select several books, and meet regularly in person or online to discuss the book(s), lessons learned, and how opinions may differ. For a shorter (3 sessions) program with guided readings and discussion questions about the Declaration and its author, Thomas Jefferson, consider organizing a group for the “Declaration Book Club,” developed by the leadership of Monticello. Information can be found at Monticello.org. Consider including individuals from other parties or even co-sponsor such sessions with the OC Republican and/or Democratic and Libertarian parties.
