In 2001, 50,000 young people from all around America responded to the tragedy of 9/11 by creating a massive flag mural formed from thousands of tiles. Now, our country needs their voices again. This time, by designing a flag reflecting their vision for our future. Together, the two mosaics, one born from healing, the other from hope, will stand as enduring symbols of youth leadership and America’s shared story.
Students’ tiles will become part of the huge My America Youth Flag Mosaic, unveiled at a Boston, MA venue in December 2026. Select designs will also be featured in an interactive digital exhibit.
Here’s how to get engaged. Register your school or your group and you will receive a FREE Classroom Kit which includes fabric tiles, markers, instructions and post-age paid return envelope. Completed tiles are to be returned in the postage-paid envelope by October 1, 2026.
